For a project involving plant nursery greenhouses, we have collected RGB and thermal drone imagery. The goal is to make thermal anomalies visible, such as potential heat loss, thermal bridges, insulation defects, leaks, or irregularities in the greenhouse roof, screen systems, ventilation openings, and heating pipes.
We use Pix4Dfields for agricultural applications, but it is not suitable for thermal inspection. We also use WebODM for smaller projects and are currently investigating whether an investment in software such as Pix4Dmapper would be worthwhile. For smaller inspections, such as solar panels and a church model, processing in WebODM works reasonably well. However, this project covers approximately 18 hectares of greenhouses. Due to the repetitive nature of the greenhouse structures, it is proving difficult to stitch both the RGB and thermal images properly. It is also possible that we are not yet using the optimal settings.
We have flown three datasets at altitudes of 90, 70, and 40 meters, with 80% side and front overlap. The thermal images are available as R-JPG and/or as TIFF files after conversion using Thermal Tools.
Could you please let us know whether you can provide support in choosing the right ODM settings and/or processing this dataset? Our initial goal is to obtain a usable orthomosaic of the greenhouse area, possibly also divided by zone. There is some urgency, as we would preferably like to have the result this week, ideally before Friday.
At this stage, we are mainly looking for practical support and would like to learn from the process.
