Can WebODM process my dataset?

In general, if your images are JPEGs or TIFFs, come from a stock drone and your computer is powerful enough, yes. The ability of WebODM to process a dataset relies mostly on the availability of sufficient memory to complete the task.

With the recommended amount of RAM you should be able to easily process at least 100–300 images. If your computer is not very powerful and you have lots of images, check WebODM Lightning.

Does WebODM use Docker?

Windows: no, it runs natively if you use the installer.

macOS and Linux: yes. The macOS installer is simply a manager program to help you setup WebODM with docker.

Can I run WebODM on Linux?

Yes, of course! Linux is actually our best supported platform. Simply follow the instructions provided in the installation guide.

Can I run WebODM on Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4)?

Yes! Apple Silicon is fully supported and it's pretty fast too.

What are the minimum system requirements?

You'll need at least 20 GB of free disk space and 8 GB RAM (16 GB or more recommended). A 64-bit CPU is required. With 8 GB of RAM, you may not be able to process more than 100 images. For larger datasets, 16 GB RAM and 100 GB disk space are recommended, or consider using WebODM Lightning.

How does WebODM compare to proprietary software?

Comparable or better. Don't take our word. Try it and see for yourself!
