DJI Smart Oblique map

wondering potato

So what is WebODM's capability of stitching a DJI Smart Oblique map...say 7000-10000 images

I'm doing a ~10,000 image capture this weekend, process it next week. I'll let ya know how it goes and can share.

Interested in getting my hand on a 10K dataset, I’m improving OpenSfM to improve speed and memory on large datasets these days. The largest I have is Ziegelpark (ODMData), but it is only 7K (6.5K reconstructed in one chunk), so happy to try a 10K one.

I'm going to have to redo my capture from this weekend. Had broken cumulus clouds causing lighting havoc. Also, I'm fairly new to this and was trying out manual camera settings and didn't realize aperture affects more than just light ... have some some blurriness that I think that caused. I should be able to redo it this week and process it when I'm back in town next week. I'll share share the raw dataset for @YanNoun.

I'll also mention it's probably a pretty gnarly dataset, it's woods, fields, trails, some marshy stuff. Not much vegetation popping yet, but it's that time of year where it could change in a few days.

In my experience WebODM had/has some issues with processing (DJI) smart oblique image-sets. I don't know if this was because of the sequence the images were taken when using smart oblique. (first image nadir, oblique-north,oblique-east,oblique-south,oblique-west, and repeat nadir,oblique-north,etc etc). Whereas in the 'normal oblique mode, the images sequence was: first all the nadir-images, all the oblique north images, all the oblique east images etc etc. These mappings worked fine. I'm not sure if this is still the case, you might want to start with a smaller subset of smart oblique images. My biggest set was 9000 x 20mp (nadir) images and that worked fine. Unfortunately I'm not at liberty to share this set.

Yup, already in my benchmark.

Weather and timing did not cooperate last week but I will be onsite again this week to give it another go on my large dataset capture.

I was able to complete this mission last week. Big dataset, around 12k pics, 90GB - PM me for a download link if anyone wants to take a run at it.
