Reality scan 2.2 vs webodm

Rocket345

Hello everyone,

I recently processed the same drone image dataset using RealityScan 2.2 and WebODM 3.3.1.

I noticed significant differences in the results. In particular, WebODM appears to struggle with image alignment, with some images seemingly not being properly aligned. This seems to negatively affect the subsequent reconstruction.

In comparison, RealityScan appears to handle the same dataset differently.

I would like to understand what might explain these differences and whether there are specific WebODM settings or processing parameters that could improve image alignment in this situation.

Has anyone experienced similar issues or compared the results of these two software packages using the same dataset?

I would be happy to share additional information about the dataset and processing settings if that would help identify the cause.

Thank you for your help!

If you can share the dataset (post a link from Dropbox or Google Drive), the settings you've used, and a few screenshots to compare the results with Reality Scan we can use the dataset to improve future versions of WebODM (or provide suggestions on what settings to tweak)

The dataset isn't mine; it was posted in a group a few years ago. Perhaps I should do the same thing using a dataset available on WebODM.
