OpenDroneMap
July 31st 2026
There's a lot of outdated information about OpenDroneMap and its relationship with WebODM. This page provides some up-to-date factual information:
- WebODM was part of OpenDroneMap, but that is no longer the case. As of April 6th 2026, the projects are separate and distinct.
- WebODM was an interface to OpenDroneMap (ODM), but that is no longer the case. Today WebODM offers an interface to ODX, a state of the art, up-to-date photogrammetry engine forked from and faster than ODM, that is entirely separate from OpenDroneMap.
- OpenDroneMap sells installers for a fork of WebODM, called "OpenDroneMap Desktop", which is not WebODM and should not be confused with WebODM.
- The easiest and up-to-date way to install WebODM is to download the free installers from our download page at webodm.org.
- Some references to WebODM on the OpenDroneMap website and documentation are outdated or inaccurate and should be disregarded.
